About Us

FullSizeRender (5)Roger Aspholm, the founder and owner of FinKraft, is originally from Finland and is a proud representative of his Finnish roots.  The word “Kraft” is Scandinavian for strength or power in the athletic sense–hence the name “FinKraft” and reflects Roger’s value of Nordic toughness that is often required in endurance sports.

Endurance sports are physically, mentally and emotionally hard on an athlete. Training and racing places tremendous amounts of stress on one’s body and mind. It is imperative that an athlete effectively balances training, racing, nutrition and rest in order to reach their maximum potential.

With almost 40 years’ experience of racing at a high level in various disciplines, Roger will tailor fit a training program that will suit your sporting needs and lifestyle. A well-laid out training plan focusing on big picture concepts–such as your weaknesses, your strengths, nutrition, recovery, your daily schedule, learning to deal with all the variables in your daily life etc.–is what will allow you to reach your goals as an athlete.

Knowing this, training and racing is not just about physical fitness but also about other key ingredients such as being able to suffer and having confidence in your decisions. As you start out you will realize that our coaching program is not overly focused on just one component of training, like power, fitness or a specific training method. Our training plans are effective because we adopt a holistic approach when it comes to training.  We will help you put the pieces of the puzzle together so that you can learn how to push yourself and find success as an endurance athlete when it matters.

We will teach you how to make yourself a better athlete and go beyond what you thought was possible by using proven techniques and training methods. We make sure to incorporate and update these proven methods with up-to-date philosophies and technologies. Above all, we constantly pay attention to every aspect of your life as an athlete.

Coaching is a two-way street.  In order for a coaching relationship to be successful, commitment and consistency on the athlete’s part is essential.  It is up to you to make the most of our relationship!

If you are interested in taking your training and racing to the next level, then we invite you to become a part of the Finkraft family.
